STEVE BEST ("A legend - the best prop comic around")
Steve Best has been a stand-up comedian for over 20 years, performing all over the world including South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bosnia, South Africa, Holland, Denmark and even the Falkland Islands. He has toured with Frank Skinner and Omid Djalili, and "been on TV a few times". Steve is recognised by his fellow comedians as "A legend - the best prop comic".
For eight years he has been the comedy module's "teacher of all things funny" of Middlesex University's Drama Department, under the tutelage of veteran comedian and comedy trainer Huw Thomas.
His time performing and witnessing so much comedy, and his considerable experience at Middlesex, made him the ideal candidate to become a tutor on Amused Moose Comedy's Absolute And Almost Beginners comedy course.
Steve is also a superb photographer, with exhibitions and most recent photography book Joker Face, a hugely entertaining record of the British comedy scene. Combining unknown facts about some of Britain’s best-loved comedians with their favourite one-liners and candid, backstage and onstage black-and-white portraits, "Best paints an intimate and very funny portrait of some of our favourites: Jimmy Carr, Rob Delaney, Sarah Pascoe, Stewart Lee, John Bishop, Mackenzie Crook, Josie Lawrence, Mark Watson, Tommy Tiernan, Phill Jupitus, and many, many more."
"Steve Best leaves his dignity in the dressing room to embark on a daft, prop-heavy whirlwind. The devil-may-care energy he invests is infectious. There are few better at it than this experienced exponent": Chortle
